Slope. Extension
I still remember the very first time I stepped into this 18-ping home. Before my gaze could rise, the low beam had already pressed the air down, as if the ceiling were quietly reminding me to keep my breath small. Three bedrooms, two living areas, two baths should have been just right, yet somewhere between turning around, storing things away, and weaving through daily paths, the space had begun to feel crowded.
So what I wanted was never merely “prettier.” I wanted to return breath to everyday life: to settle the low beams gracefully, to loosen the tightness of the rooms; to keep a corner where elders could occasionally stay the night and rest in comfort; and in the post-pandemic rhythm, to let the home hold the focus and order of working meetings at home.
