The co-living residence of parrot–human
Home, to us, isn’t just a place for two. It also has to hold the one who feels like family, a parrot with the soul of a three-year-old child. He doesn’t simply need to be cared for, he needs to be invited into our daily life. So we lifted the ceiling, letting the space open out above 2.2 meters into a freer sky. We lowered the partitions between the kitchen and the study to 2.2 meters on purpose, so light can travel through, and so he has a path left for him: a way to fly, to pause, to meet our eyes and answer with his own.
